With Wamunzo, Zab Maboungou presents a gripping choreographic solo in which percussion suspends time and the body expresses in turn its power, mastery, and tranquility. This introspective and engaging work draws upon the choreographer’s tireless research into African music and dance, whose richness and sophistication has inspired her technique: LOKETO. It is based on breath, presence, physical and rhythmic endurance, and flexibility.

Zab Maboungou is a choreographer, performer, philosopher and writer of Franco-Congolese origin, as well as a leading figure in dance with her company Zab Maboungou/Compagnie Danse Nyata-Nyata.
