MAI (Montréal, arts interculturels) invites artistic, cultural and community organizations in Montreal to submit projects centered on intercultural artistic practices and intended to be presented within their own community. By organizing these activities MAI intends to strengthen networks and encourage beneficial exchanges between artists and the community. Such activities complement the MAI’s regular season.
Some examples are: visits, talks, conferences and workshops with professional artists from the MAI with members of community centers; dialogues between artists of different practices; shows; networking and partnerships, etc.
Projects must be intercultural.

For projects involving professional artists, please refer to our Call for submissions in Visual Arts or Call for Submissions in Performing arts.

List of documents to include in the application:

1. Project description, detailing the approach of the organization (artistic, cultural or other).

Please also mention:
o Types of activity.
o Intercultural approach.
o Duration of the project and intended dates of the activity.
o Short description of the location where the activities will be held.
o Number of participants and description of their expectations.
o Description of technical requirements as well as organizational, logistical and promotional needs, including a budget breakdown that defines of MAI’s contribution to the project.
2. Curriculum vitae for the main artists and partners.
3. Information on the organization, publications, programs, videos, photographs, press kits or any relevant document.
4. Contact information of the applicants.
5. Return envelope with sufficient postage.
We are also interested in attending your activities (artistic, cultural or other).
For the 2007-2008 season, projects must be received before February 1, 2007.
