Manifesting in many forms – recycled drawings, charcoal sketches, paper installations, animations – Lucie Chan ’s artwork articulates themes such as social and cultural voyeurism, diaspora, personal narrative, what we take from those around us, and the fleeting intimacy between people. On the Surface, consisting of two separate installations, addresses the restlessness between cultural belonging and loss of self-fabricated culture, and holds remains of what tries to still exist but what is changed and less recognizable than before.
