La femme comme champ de bataille

22 févr. – 5 mars, 20h

Du sexe de la femme comme champ de bataille dans la guerre en Bosnie

Quebec premire

In Naeim Jebelli*’s interdisciplinary adaptation of *Matéi Visniek*’s acclaimed play, the junction of two women’s lives from vastly different worlds take on a larger, more universal perception of tragedy marked by war. While the original features both a Bosnian and an American woman, *Jebelli breaks the binary of East and West to create a culturally inclusive, shared experience using atmospheric sound design and TV screens to project interactive animation, video footage of war zones, and to broadcast the audience directly onto the set.

This production will be performed in French, with English subtitles the first week and Farsi subtitles the second, with no change made to the dialogue.

Naeim Jebelli is founder and director of Hashtpa Productions. He seeks inspiration from various cultures and communities to eliminate borders, enrich productions and to add to the cultural scene of Canada.
