Chasing Trails

Geeta (Montréal)

17 + 18 avr.

A new multimedia concert from Geeta Pearson, Chasing Trails transports the audience to a surreal universe, an extraordinary world in metamorphosis where madness, rebellion and reverie are intertwined. Dreamlike soundscapes and trance rituals influenced by shamanism celebrate life and death. With melancholy melodies, soaring harmonies, tribal rhythms and hypnotic imagery, Geeta casts her spell. The enchantress is accompanied onstage by musician and producer Marc Olivier, singers of the Bandit Choir, and video projections by Caroline Gagnon. A unique multisensory experience.

The intensely spirited Geeta offers musical compositions driven by a visceral energy that is sometimes intimate, sometimes dizzying. Her artistic approach is inspired by the expressionist and surrealist movements, and references to artists such as David Lynch, Luis Buñuel, John Cage, Yma Sumak, Diamanda Galás and Björk are found throughout.

In 2014, the singer-songwriter was artist in residence at the Arts and Cultural Studies Laboratory in Armenia and completed a major European tour.
